Lanny Klinkhammer became Sheriff of Miner County in May 2000 and his career in law enforcement has spanned more than eighteen years, all in service to the residents of Miner County. He has been with the Miner County Sheriff’s Office since 1988, previously employed as a dispatcher with the city of Howard. Sheriff Klinkhammer is originally from Howard and is involved in the community through membership in the Miner County Ambulance Service and the Knights of Columbus. As Sheriff, Lanny oversees two full-time deputies, one part-time deputy, a 911 coordinator and eight dispatchers. While Miner County does not operate a jail, they do offer 911 dispatch services to both Miner County and Sanborn County.
