Sheriff Todd Holtz took office in November of 2014. He has been in law enforcement since 2007. Sheriff Holtz also worked 4 years as a reserve deputy in Emmetsburg Iowa for the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s office. He is a graduate of Kaplan University with an Associates of Applied Sciences degree.
Sheriff Holtz is a member of the South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association, American Gelbvieh Association, American Red Angus Association, Edmunds County 4H Leaders Association, and Roscoe Sportsman Club. The Edmunds County Sheriff’s Office covers 1,151 square miles and provides services to the 4,041 citizens in the county.
