David Miles took office as the Davison County Sheriff in January 2003. Sheriff Miles has a law enforcement career spanning more than nineteen years which have all been spent in service to residents of Davison County, either at the Mitchell Police Department or the Davison County Sheriffs Office. Sheriff Miles is active in the community and many civic and law enforcement organizations including the Child Protection Team, Community Alcohol and Drug Center, Crime Stoppers and the South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association. As Sheriff of Davison County, Dave oversees a total staff of 29 full-time employees and 5 part-time employees. He has five sworn deputies and manages a seventy bed jail.
