David Fink took office as the sheriff of Aurora County in 1987. Sheriff Fink is a life long resident of Aurora County. He graduated from Plankinton High School in 1979. David went on to college at National College of Business in Rapid City, graduating with an Associates Degree in Ag. Business. After college David farmed with his family until his election to sheriff. David is a member of the United Methodist Church and has been an EMT for 17 years with the Plankinton Ambulance service. He has been a DARE officer for the schools for Aurora County since 1992. David oversees a staff of 3 including two sworn deputies. He is a member of the SD Sheriff's Association and the SD Peace Officers Association.
